Supported housing for clients with a range of mental health needs
Step Down is a 4 bed house in Wells, providing short term supported accommodation to homeless people leaving mental health wards in Somerset. We work closely with residents to help them find a permanent home.
Step Up is a 24 hour crisis house in Yeovil. This service provides intensive mental health support to people experiencing an increase in mental health needs – to prevent admission to hospital or allow someone to leave hospital sooner.

Supported Housing

We work in partnership with Somerset County Council and Somerset Foundation NHS trust – providing short term supported accomodation for people with mental health needs.
Step Up is 24 hour crisis house in Yeovil. It provides intensive, recovery focused support for 3-10 days to people experiencing an increase in their mental health needs. The house has 6 bedrooms and communal living spaces as well as a large garden. Support is provided 1-1 and in small groups and focuses on social and emotional needs. Staff work with residents to access their usual support networks and identify new sources of support. There is also practical support on offer – aimed at increasing skills and confidence in daily living skills. The aim of the service is to provide support and prevent a mental health crisis and admission to hospital. People already in hospital can also be referred and come to the house for a short period so that they can spend a shorter peiod in hospital.
Step Down is a small house in Wells which offers supported accomodation for 2-6 weeks to people who are an inpatient on an NHS mental health unit in Somerset and who have no home to be discharged to. The house has 4 bedrooms and communal living spaces. We provide intensive support with securing qood quality, permanent accommodation and practical assistance with daily living tasks such as budgeting, meal planning and cooking, paying bills and dealing with post.
