We work hard to support our team of staff

We know that happy staff succeed far more at work than someone who feels undervalued or exploited. Every client benefits from spending time with a skilled, motivated and positive staff member. Our staff have the necessary skills and training to feel confident in the workplace, enjoy their work, and feel appreciated and respected.

All of our support workers undertake comprehensive training which is regularly updated. We encourage our staff to become NVQ qualified and we support them to gain these qualifications whilst they are working with us. We recognise where additional training needs may be required to enable us to support a wider range of clients and ensure they are able to receive the correct level of support.

Our team brings a wide range of life and work experiences. We will match a support worker to a client based on their personality and skills.

At the age of 19 I began my career in mental health as a volunteer for MIND, moving onto qualifying as a mental health nurse in 1997. I developed a career within specialist community mental health services – my particular area of interest was in working with people with complex mental health needs and I worked in services such as Assertive Outreach, Early Intervention in Psychosis and Home Treatment. I also spent some time working for Rethink as a housing manager.  

In 2008, I set up Enable, quickly establishing it as a skilled and trusted provider of specialist mental health support.

Angie is passionate about ensuring that people with mental health conditions, learning disabilities or autism are listened to, included and valued.  

She recognises the challenges faced by these people and their families. Angie is committed to empowering them to live a fulfilled, independent life, free from discrimination. Her leadership experience is invaluable in creating new and exciting ways of providing support. 

Jess joined the team in October 2021. Prior to this, Jess worked within a service delivering support to adults with learning disabilities and mental health. She started as a care and support worker in 2011 and has since progressed through various roles to a senior management position. 

Jess feels strongly that everyone has the right to be supported and deserves the opportunity to enable this to happen. As a confident and approachable people manager, she drives the person-centred support we deliver.

Jess strives to ensure that the services we offer coincide with our company values. She is passionate about ensuring clients receive exceptional care, and she always works hard to promote and adopt continuous improvement throughout the organisation. 

Outside of her work, Jess enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, two Labradors and close family.

Maria started her path into the health and social care sector in February 2014 where she began as a support worker for a charitable organisation providing tailored person lead support for adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs.

Maria worked her way through various managerial roles overseeing and developing staff teams, supported living and community based. Maria is a qualified person centred active support trainer and leads the team to install person lead value approaches.   

Maria started her journey with Enable support services In August 2023. Maria has a passion for mental health which is fuelling her to take full advantage of her position and platform to ensure a high standard of support for all clients.

Maria has a driving passion for working with people who are sometimes overlooked and underestimated and believes that every voice deserves to be heard and with the right support at the right time anyone can unlock their hidden potential and thrive.
