Training & Support Models
We use a number of best practice models to provide structure to the support worker roles and to guide us on what is really important for clients
Staff undergo a complete suite of training to ensure that everyone is qualified and competent for the work that they do in the company.
Training starts from the outset with a series of Mandatory Training in the form of e-learning and classroom based, which is undertaken during induction. Once this is completed, and with management approval, staff are able to commence their employment in the areas for which they are trained. We take training seriously and we constantly check our staff are up to date on all the requirements through a matrix system that alerts us when staff need to re-fresh their knowledge.
All staff will complete the Care Certificate, we are also linked to Acacia Training which is a body that enables us to provide all staff with the opportunities to undertake NVQs depending on their level of education. This is something we encourage all our staff to do when we have funding available.
There are also distance learning courses which our staff carry out including:
- understanding autism
- understanding principles of dementia care
- understanding mental health
- principles of end-of -life care
- Self-harm and suicide awareness
